The Shape of The Divine is Free of Image
When we realise that if we're really interested in consciousness, and what we truly are, we have to come upon our relationships with others, including ourselves.
Am I relating through an image and not directly as consciousness itself?
You close your eyes and you are zooming in. Really, you're zooming into consciousness.
What does that mean?
It means:
The space in which all appears is consciousness.
Consciousness is the space that makes it possible for all to appear.
Consciousness has nothing to do with the image you have of yourself!
The space-time identity you have of yourself, “I like this, I don't like that. I had a great time last week, but 10 years ago the same space was terrible”, that's images of yourself.
Consciousness is the space in which all appears.
That's got nothing to do with the relationship of the image of myself with another image of someone who has an image of their self.
Two images cannot relate profoundly, deeply, meaningfully.
Two images can only relate as pain, suffering, and limitation.
If we really get this and you're interested in consciousness, then when there's pain and suffering, it means one is relating through the image of oneself. That's what it means.
Because the images are energies imprinted in the body-mind that can only move and relate to a self-image.
And when another is not responding to the self-image you have of yourself, there's frustration, there's pain, there's suffering, there's a split.
So, when you relate to the space of consciousness, images dissolve.
But you must relate to the spaciousness, which is consciousness. There's no one that is consciousness.
Bernie Prior isn't consciousness, that's an image.
But the one who sees and knows the one who is a seer and knower is consciousness in any of us.
Zoom out further and consciousness becomes maybe a person.
Zoom out even more and consciousness becomes the universe.
Zoom in, zoom out, look in, look out, you begin to realise What You Are, this bright space for all that's possible to appear. Don't you think that's quite wonderful?
But if you zoom in, the space in which that is appearing in, is free of image.
That's literally Self-Realisation.
So, sensation then, takes either this shape of self-image or the shape of the Divine, the space in which all occurs.
